Family of Origin

Understanding where your relationship patterns began.

Family-of-origin work isn't about blaming your parents or spending therapy endlessly analyzing your childhood.

It's about understanding the environment in which you first learned about relationships.

You may have grown up in a family where you learned to manage other people's emotions, avoid conflict, achieve in order to receive approval, keep difficult feelings to yourself, or take on responsibilities that weren't really yours.

You may also love your family deeply while recognizing that some of what you learned no longer works for you.

Both things can be true.

Together, we can explore family roles, parentification, emotional neglect, enmeshment, boundaries, generational patterns, conflict, communication, and the expectations you inherited about who you're supposed to be in relationships.

The goal isn't to decide who was right or wrong.

It's to understand what you learned and whether you still want to live by those rules.
